Finding Topics to Write About on Your Personal Blog

If you have a blog to build your personal brand and promote your business (and you should), you might sometime struggle with coming up with things to write about.

This can be particularly challenging with a blog, where you are expected to post content on a reasonably frequent basis. I believe that just about all bloggers occasionally have times where they struggle with what to write.

As home business builders and leaders, we want to provide value and insight to our readers so that they have reason to keep coming back for more.

Here are a few ideas about what you can write about, which will work well for home business builders and network marketers. You have to use some imagination, but these ideas can spark a lot of content ideas for you.

• think about your experiences in building your business and how you’ve overcome obstacles, and write about them – talk about how and why you got started, and things you’ve learned along the way

• write about frequently asked questions you get from prospects, and talk about how you answer them (how much money can I make, how much time do I have to invest, can I do this if I have a very tight budget, and so forth)

• read an encouraging book related to business, social networking, or self improvement and pick out parts that resonate with you and write about them

• share and comment on a video (from YouTube or elsewhere) that you’ve seen that encouraged you or gave  you insight that helped

• when you read something online that inspires you, perhaps a business building tip, relate it to your own experience and create a post in your own voice (relate the tip to your own business experience – don’t just copy it)

These are just a few things you can use to spawn ideas about what to write about. Most importantly, just relax and tell things from your perspective. You are a unique individual, and one big reason you’re writing in the first place is to help others and provide encouragement.

This helps brand you as a leader, and separates you from the majority who spend time pushing their opportunity with little regard to giving anything back to the home business community in general.
