Starting a podcast seems to be all the rage these days. I know that I was skeptical about doing it initially, but a friend who is very successful with strong online presence convinced me to give it a go. I must say, it has been an interesting journey and I’ve done some tweaking as I’ve gone along, but it has been worth it.
Now, to be very open about this, I don’t feel that podcasting is for everyone. You have to think about your business, your target audience, and how you can best serve them while potentially picking up new listeners (and prospects). If your niche is one where you are working with people who are excited and anxious for information and leadership, starting a podcast might be a good fit for you.
For my niche, online home business marketers, this is a good fit. This can include network marketers, as well as those who are more into affiliate product sales. I focus my podcasts on providing hope, help, guidance, and encouragement for marketers who are building a business online. I do touch on offline marketing as well, because many of the principles for online marketing apply offline as well.
Okay, let’s dig in a bit and talk about starting a podcast.
- why starting a podcast might make great sense for your home business
- why publishing a podcast can be your best relationship building tool with your audience
- the real reasons podcasting is taking off and why you might want to get on board
- the best resource I’ve found for learning how to create a podcast step by step (and it’s 100% free!)
Would love your feedback, either here or privately!
