Many network marketers create a blog or website to promote their business, then start looking at Internet marketing products that promise to get them ranked high in Google and other major search engines.
While some of these Internet marketing tools and services may help your site get better ranking, many are simply a rehash or repackaging of older products and are a waste of money. Always bear in mind, if you are looking at products aimed at improving search engine ranking, that many of them are targeted at “newbies” who are looking for fast results and don’t know any better.
Before worrying too much about purchasing tools and services to improve your blog or website’s chances of getting found in Google searches, it’s important to make sure your site is already optimized as much as possible. This is known as “on page SEO” (search engine optimization)” and is your first priority.
Here are some “search engine friendly” good practices that will help you get set up for better ranking down the line.
- write your own original posts and articles, or hire someone to do it – avoid using content copied from other sources
- know who your target audience is and write your content for them – what information or insight might they be searching for?
- write for real people – do not cram your articles full of repetitive keywords in an effort to get higher rankings – that technique is no longer effective
- make sure each page title and description relates to the content of that page or post – each page and post should have its own unique title and description
- make sure all your images have descriptions (your keywords) in the “alt tag” – all image files should reside on your own site
- try and get as many links back to your website or blog as possible, with anchor text that targets your keywords and what your site is about
- do not use free hosting
- install Google Analytics to track your visitors and where they come from
- keep improving and expanding your website regularly – add fresh content at least weekly
All of the above things are simple, easy to do, and will help ensure that your network marketing website or blog is search engine friendly. I know that some of it might be confusing. Feel free to contact me (or comment below) and I’ll be happy to help you.

Nice post Eldon. Thanks for sharing! These are basically what bloggers must do especially those who are just starting out. Thanks again.
Thanks for this Eldon, it should stop newbies from falling for the many products out there promising high page rank!

Hi Eldon,
There are products out there that can help with keyword research and things like that but the only way to improve you blog ranking is to work at it yourself. No robot or software can do that. Great post and thanks for sharing.
